Calibration certificates for temperature and humidity
Calibration is an important part the use of a thermometer for critical controls. Have a calibration certificate to check the accuracy of your instruments offers greater confidence and security in your readings. We have an internal UKAS laboratory for the calibration of temperature and humidity. Find out more about the different types of services and certificates that we offer below.
What is a calibration certificate?
All thermometers have tendency to drift over time, that is to say when their readings become less precise. The calibration tests confirm the accuracy of the readings of a thermometer. During the test, the thermometer measurements will be compared to a traceable device or a reference thermometer.
A calibration certificate is a official document indicating the results of the calibration test. This will prove the accuracy of your thermometer or show that it must be recalibrated. If it is to be recalibrated, you will then receive a new documentation to show it.
Are new thermometers delivered with calibration certificates?
All thermometers made in ETI factories in the United Kingdom are Sold with a free calibration certificate or have the Possibility of adding a UKAS certificate In addition if you wish, which engages additional costs to your order.
Please note that adding an optional certificate to your order will delay the delivery time of 10 to 14 days, to allow the calibration process to take place.
Types of calibration certificates
There are two types of thermometer calibration certificates: traceable and Ukas
Traceability certificates mean that your thermometer has been tested compared to a thermometer of the traceability chain. The traceability chain is a thermometers chain which dates back to the highest reference thermometer of a national calibration center (or equivalent).
UKAS certificates show that a thermometer has been tested in an accredited Ukas laboratory.
Ukas is the national accreditation organization of the United Kingdom. Tests in laboratories accredited by the UKAS are carried out according to the highest standards in the country.
Understand the certificates and the calibration of thermometers
What type of certificate do I need?
-Traceable certificates are generally satisfactory for inspectors who wish to check your calibration procedures during visits. An UKAS certificate gives you additional peace of mind that your thermometer has been calibrated according to the highest standards in the United Kingdom.
How much does a calibration certificate cost?
+The prices vary depending on the type of certificate you need (ukas or traceable), the type of instrument you have (food probe, humidimeter, infrared thermometer, etc.) and the number of calibration points of which you have need. For more price information, please contact us!
What are the calibration points
+The calibration points are the temperatures to which the thermometer has been calibrated. The number of control points you choose depends on your needs, and we can do as much as you wish.
A current number of control points, including choosing is 3 or 5. It is customary to choose a 5 -point certificate for thermometers where great precision is essential. For example, reference thermometers for calibration tests. The more control points, the more you can be sure that your thermometer is precise on a temperature range.
Thermometers can be calibrated at standard control points, those that reflect current applications. These are -18, 0, 40, 70 and 100 ° C.
We can also calibrate thermometers with personalized control points on request, depending on your application. For example, for a high/low refrigerator thermometer, you may want to calibrate it at 2 and 8 ° C, because these are the temperatures it must measure.
For traceable certificates, we can calibrate thermometers from -100 to 500 ° C. For UKAS certificates, the calibration range is -100 to 250 ° C.
How to buy a calibration certificate?
+If you have an instrument that you want us to calibrate, please contact us with the details of your instrument, the calibration requirements and the desired calibration points (separated by commas). Our sympathetic team will answer you for any question before you make a quote.
Once the work is agreed, you will have to send us your thermometer for calibration. Once we have received the instrument, we strive to finish the work and return it to you within about 10 to 14 working days.
